HOW DO THESE THINGS CONTINUE TO HAPPEN IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS??
Newark is the largest city in the state of New Jersey. It’s also one of the most dangerous. New Jersey is infamous for its gang-related shootings. It’s become one of the nation’s most dangerous cities. In fact, in 2007 three young college-bound students were executed behind an elementary school at close range. A fourth was found alive by police slumped near a set of bleachers with a gunshot wound and a knife wound to her head. All senseless. It may take time for Newark officials to catch murderers, but they always get their man.
Why do I say this?
Because yet again, another senseless slaying took place in this infamous town. A known punk Bloods gang member was convicted of murdering 3 teenage girls and a woman at an Irvington home nearly 4 years ago.
An Essex County jury found Rolando Terrell guilty of four counts each of murder and felony murder for the September 2008 slayings. Prosecutors allege that Mr. Terrell and an accomplice robbed and shot the 3 teens and the adult woman, then set their house on fire to destroy evidence.
Rolando Terrell is facing life without parole when he is sentenced. He had previously received a life sentence in 2011 when he had been convicted of the related robbery, arson conspiracy and weapons offenses. However, Terrell denied being at the scene when the crimes occurred. He was re-tried on the murder charges after that jury failed to reach a verdict on the murder counts.
The victims were Candes McLean, 40 years old, her daughter, Talia, and her neice Zaykiyyah Jones, both 18 years old and a 13 year-old named Latrisha Carruthers-Fields. Ms. McLean was known to sell drugs from her home. Her boyfriend had been in prison at the time, so Terrell knew she’d be an easy target.

I'm from Newark and when that man killed those kids behind the school it shook the city up. I don't remember the shooting in Irvington tho. But around here if you're doing the wrong things you can get caught up real quick and it can turn real ugly real fast. It says the chick was selling drugs out of her house, well when you do certain things you expose yourself to senseless violence. Why would you sell out of a house where your kids live? In this case her stupid actions got her kids involved

It's scary that there are people out there who have no problem taking someones life..I'm from Jersey and I knw about Newark...and I remember that story...just so sad...killing does nothing but ruin lives...
