Ilyasah Shabazz Was Very Displeased For How Her Mother Was Portrayed In Movie "Betty & Coretta" Details Inside!

The daughter of Malcolm X & Betty Shabbazz saw last saturday airing of "Betty & Coretta" which featured on the lifetime network. However she wasn't to thrilled about her mothers portrayal in the movie.Celebs and fans gave the movie high praise for being able to go back in time and capture a movement that changed the world forever, plus added things we didn't know about both great men.

However, Ilyasah Shabazz thinks other-wise and pleads with viewers not to get the lifetime version twisted with how her mom really was. Some would agree that she has a legitimate gripe beings though she was there every step of the way until the un-timely demise of her mother and  father.Checkout what the sister had to say about the movie below--DM

Ilyasah Shabazz Speaks with the Washington Post

“My mother was not a weak, timid, insecure woman as portrayed,” Shabazz said. “She was regal, compassionate, strong, loving, beautiful, resilient and well-educated. That is why the Delta Sigma Theta sororities named academies all across this country after her, so others could be inspired how to turn tragedy into triumph,” says Shabazz.

“My mother did not tie a scarf to her face as she was shown wearing in the film.”“If only Lifetime had consulted us, the sisters, maybe this would be more than fiction. I am not pointing my finger solely at them, but it must be our responsibility to ensure history is properly documented,” Shabazz said. Off Subject: But she looks a lot like her father- DAYUMMMMMMMM... too crazy, so crazy that it would spook me if we were a couple and everytime I turn around shes looking like my Afro american hero--

However she is very beautiful and I wouldnt hesistate on Wyfing a women full of wisdome and knowlege she has. I would just have to block Malcom X out of my mind and she can help me to do that by not wearing the glasses:)

But coming from the daughter that been through everything with her parents, I say she has one heck of a point. On the other hand Lifetime did a great job on providing that for us- PROPS & KUDOS to LIFETIME-

Sametime- If i was reading correctly- she said they never got in touch with the family or anything and did the project, kind of reminds me of Aaliyahs parents and their feelings towards DRAKE

Everytime these idiots do a movie on an icons life they never seem to have enough sense to get input from family and people closest to them....kind of disrespectful if you ask me.....this wasnt about the lives of sports or movie stars...this was the story about civil rights legends.
