The history behind the controversial/ racist name has nothing to do with the team at all-- this goes back to a war on the indians who had their heads CHOPPED OFF and HUNG on a Highway call indian head highway- look it up
so when the team put the head of indians on the helments blacks/ whites/ indians all races thought is was a disrespect and this thats why a lot of people hate the redskins-- including people from DC
